polygalacturonan
Plant cell wall polysaccharide consisting predominantly of galacturonic acid. May also contain some rhamnose, arabinose and galactose. Those with significant amounts of rhamnose are termed rhamnogalacturonans. Found in the pectin fraction of the wall.
